The EBC Diary – Sue Crome

Sue Crome – Maldon

Piggybacks, good times and ‘Pretty Muddy’

I’m a 39 year old mum of two girls. I made a decision that I was not going to be a flabby forty year old. I made the excuse of devoting all my time to raising my daughters and not looking after me.

3 years ago I started doing Zumba but it wasn’t having the required effect. I decided to give Essex Boot Camp a try after reading about it on twitter. I tried to be really brave so I went on my own. This made a big difference as I had no excuse not to go if my friend wasn’t going that week etc.

I had my first session at Maldon with Gabriel and I gave a piggyback to a really big bloke. I was so chuffed that I could do it I went back again the next week. I have been a regular now for over 2 years. I think I’m addicted to the feelings it gives me; exhausted, satisfied with the achievement and having a good time with new friends.

I now go to Maldon and South Woodham Ferrers normally about 3 times a week. I have started to do obstacle races too with other EBC members. We have completed Extreme Beach, The Gauntlet, Nuclear Rush and Pretty Muddy. I love them but my friends don’t get it.

I have taken part in 2 eat clean challenges and try to keep it up. I have lost 2 stone so far with Essex Boot Camp and eat clean.
